Cambridge School of Sports Massage

Collectively we have over 25 years of teaching experience. Our lead tutors have a minimum of 12 years clinical experience and currently run their own practices. You will receive the best possible support and guidance throughout your journey towards becoming a fully qualified soft tissue therapist.

Introductory Massage Workshop 

Learn the Basic Massage Techniques

This 2 day workshop is an entirely practical course which will concentrate on performing techniques such as effleurage and petrissage.

Although this course is a pre-requisite for those wishing to attend the level 5 diploma, It is also suitable for people who have no previous experience but are interested in massage.

If you are unsure if massage is for you, then the introductory weekend will help you to decide. You will receive a certificate of completion. You are under no obligation to enrol on to the diploma if you do not wish to do so.

Our Tutors

Principal Tutor

Carl Major

Carl is our principal tutor and has been involved in teaching various courses including body massage, level 3 and 4 sports massage and the BTEC level 5 clinical sport and remedial massage diploma since 2006.

Carl qualified as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist in 2003. He runs a successful clinic focusing on remedial massage & rehabilitation. Carl has completed courses in Taping & Strapping for injury and rehabilitation, Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy and Dry Needling and is also a fully qualified teacher and assessor.

  • How long does the course take?
    The course takes one year to complete. See here for full details.
  • When do the courses start?
    We currently run two diploma courses a year, one starting in January and one in September. Click for our next course dates.
  • Do I need any prior qualifications to attend the diploma?
    If you do not hold a level 3 massage certificate or above, then you would need to attend one of our Introductory Massage weekends. We currently run 3 Introductory weekends a year, one in March, one in July, and one in November. Introductory dates
  • How much does the diploma cost?
    The diploma is £2,950 if paying up front, and £3000 if paying in instalments. Deposits and payments.
  • What happens if I miss a weekend?
    Depending on what stage you are at on the course, It may be possible for you to cover a missed day or weekend with another diploma group, failing that, You would need to arrange private tuition with one of our tutors. See Terms & conditions.
  • Do I need to hold an anatomy and physiology qualification?
    No, You will complete an anatomy & physiology paper as an online assignment.
